About Wildwood

Wildwood is a barrier island off the southern tip of New Jersey and comes alive in the spring as vacationers make their way to the famous boardwalk. The population of the town can increase from a mere 5,400 people to 250,000 visitors during peak vacation times.

The boardwalk has a total of five amusement piers along with water parks, rollercoaster’s, shopping, carnival games, and food stands.

The jobs at the boardwalk are often filled by international students or high schoolers from Philadelphia looking for a summer job at the beach.

Wildwood also hosts numerous sports competitions on the beaches through out the summer, has fireworks every friday evening, and offers off-shore activites.

Information that you may need to know for your weekly life at Wildwood!

There are many places to shop for groceries or other household items and supplies you may need or want at Wildwood. Most of the gas stations and convenient stores in Wildwood are called Wawa and they are cool! Wawa has everything from subs and hotdogs to your basic mini-mart food items! There is a Wawa about two blocks from the project houses.

For your weekly grocery shopping you can catch a ride with someone from project or from your action group to Shop-Rite or Super Fresh. Also, there is a Wal-Mart where you can go shopping for any of the little things that you need!

Also, for your weekly life, we will be going to many of the churches around the area this summer! You will go together with your family group.

And, if you are wondering how we are going to fit 40 people in one place to meet, we have a church one block from the project houses that generously lets us meet there!
